Alabama State Flower: Camellia
The original state flower of Alabama was the goldenrod, voted into law on September 6, 1927.
However, it was changed on August 26, 1959 to the camellia, which is still the current state flower.

Alabama State Flag
The Alabama State Flag was authorized by the Alabama Legislature on February 16, 1895. The bars of the cross were to be no less than 6 inches broad and were to extend diagonally across the flag. The Legislation did not designate a square or a rectangular flag.

The yellowhammer was voted in as Alabama's state bird on September 6, 1927.

The Great Seal of Alabama was approved by the Alabama Senate and House in 1939.

Adopted in 1975, the Largemouth Bass is the official state bird of ALabama.

Alabama State Quarter
Released on March 17, 2003, the Alabama quarter features an image of Helen Keller with her name in English, and in a reduced-size version of braille. The Alabama quarter is the first U.S. circulating coin to feature braille.
